The mass shooting in Las Vegas last weekend during a country music festival has led many artists to cancel their upcoming concerts in the area, but Queensryche won't be one of them. Singer Todd La Torre tells Tampa, Fla. news station WFLA-TV the show must go on and that, "we can't live in fear."

"There are those times where you wonder, like, am I gonna die today?" he says in the interview which can be seen below. "Am I gonna get shot at onstage? Hey, they're not gonna keep us from living our lives. We can't live in fear."

Queensryche are slated to play the Sunset Station Outdoor Amphitheater this Saturday (Oct. 7). The venue is located less than 10 miles from where a gunman knocked out the windows to the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and opened fire on an unsuspecting audience attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival. It was the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, with 58 confirmed dead and more than 500 injured.

"It's almost like you want everything to simmer and not continue," La Torre continues. "Like, let this period have its time of…a moment of silence kind of a thing. But the show does go on. The positive side to going into a show like that on Saturday is you know that this was an isolated incident, whereas this is just some wacko guy that decides to do something like this." Queensryche are on the road through the end of December, though the band plans to enter the studio at some point this fall to work on the follow-up to their 2015 album Condition Hüman. La Torre has also announced plans for a solo record to be released sometime in 2018. The full list of Queensryche tour dates can be found here.
