Prophets of Rage have released a black-and-white video for their track “Hands Up,” which appears on their recently released self-titled debut album. You can watch the promo above.

The band have increased their pace since delivering their Make America Rage Again tour last year. Consisting of three-quarters of Rage Against the Machine plus Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill, they formed with an agenda of putting politics back into music.

Bassist Tim Commerford pulled no punches when he stated that the aim of the band was to “kick the establishment in the f---ing mouth” as they announced their formation by claiming, “Dangerous times demand dangerous songs.” Guitarist Tom Morello went on to say, “Justice needs a fist and a face. In America’s greatest hour of need the Prophets of Rage have come together. It’s bigger than us. We’re doing to demonstrate what it means to be anti-establishment. We’re going to demonstrate what it really means to rage against the machine. It’s a locomotive-like fury.”

Morello said earlier this year, ”The goal is a simple one: The music has to be devastating. In all these interviews, we talk a lot about the politics, but the cornerstone is that the music has to be devastating and we have to not just be competitive with our legacies, but in [2017], it has to be something that goes beyond that and is very authentic, unapologetic and contemporary."

“The music is the passport to the world,” Chuck D said later. “It’s not always a given to have members who want to go where few have gone.”
