Postal Service Says Michigan is in Top 10 For Dog Bites
The United States Postal Service says one city in Michigan ranks in the top 10 for dogs biting mail carriers.
Mean Dogs
Some Michiganders like to use dogs as protection in their homes but not all dog owners keep their animals restrained from the public.
I have lived in the country for 30 years so my mail carrier never has to get out of the postal vehicle to deliver my mail. I forget that mail carriers who walk their routes in towns and cities deal with mean dogs not chained up or locked in a kennel.
I can relate to mail carriers since I delivered newspapers as a kid. If you are young, newspapers were before your time and the internet but kids would deliver papers to homes and that is how they got their news. There used to be a Doberman and a German Shepherd that used to give me hell and both nearly bit me several times. I had to threaten to stop bringing the two families their news unless they did something about the dogs.
