
Plainfield Twp Deadly Blast Believed to be Attempted Murder-Suicide
What began as a dangerous explosion at a Plainfield Township home is now being investigated by authorities as an apparent murder-suicide.
Explosion Kills Husband, The Wife was Rescued by Neighbors
Emergency crews arrived to find the home fully leveled and burning, with debris scattered across nearby yards and residents reporting the explosion was heard from miles away.
Neighbor Tim Johnson rushed from his home barefoot after hearing a woman screaming for help. With assistance from 17-year-old Mandrell Bryant, the two were able to pull the woman from the wreckage and save her life. Johnson suffered second degree burns to his head and hand during the rescue.

Deadly Explosion Being Investigated as Attempted Murder-Suicide
According to 13 On Your Side, investigators believe the house explosion was a murder-suicide. Authorities say the couple living in the home was in the middle of a divorce and had a court hearing scheduled for Friday regarding the division of assets.
Investigators say the home’s basement was intentionally filled with natural gas before the explosion was triggered. Authorities have not yet determined where the ignition source was located.
The force of the explosion makes survival remarkable. The woman is currently hospitalized and being treated for serious injuries.
