Otep are back with a video that's certain to stir up plenty of discussion. The band just debuted the Aleks Rastovic-directed clip for "Equal Rights Equal Lefts" at the Colours Couture fashion showcase at SXSW and now they're sharing it with the world.

The song is a more rap-influenced track, with Otep Shamaya delivering her message over more electronic sounding beats. During the video, the vocalist sings about the importance of fighting for your right to exist and being authentic to yourself. As for the clip, it features scantily clad male and female couples in rather revealing positions, making for a somewhat NSFW video.

"I wrote this song to celebrate and empower all people to live their authentic selves, to live their truth, and to fight for their right to exist," says Shamaya. "Every day the LGBTQ community faces bigotry, bullying, ridicule and legislative attacks. We are not 'the other.' We are your friends, your family, your neighbors, your coworkers, your doctors, nurses, soldiers and fellow Americans. Simply put, this song and this video are about love and equality."

Otep are in the process of wrapping up a leg of U.S. dates on "The Resistance World Tour." You can get ticketing information and stay up to date with the band's forthcoming shows at this location. The group is currently touring in support of their 2016 album, Generation Doom.
