Michigan has its share of weird events like the Testicle Festival, Baby Food Festival, Bologna Festival, and more, but one of the crappiest events may wind up on TV.

It's no secret that Michigan hosts a lot of weird events annually in communities statewide.

Here is a brief list of some of the weird events that take place each year in Michigan:

• Barktoberfest - Royal Oak in early September
• Frankenfest - Jackson in early to mid-October
• Humongous Fungus Fest - Crystal Falls in late August
• Great Lakes Pirate Festival - Mackinac Island in mid-June
• Mac & Cheese Fest - Grand Rapids in early August
• Michigan Bacon Festival - Lansing in late July
• Michigan ElvisFest - Belville in early July
• Michigan Testicle Festival - Deerfield the third week of March
• Mighty Uke Day - East Lansing May 9-11, 2025.
• National Baby Food Festival - Fremont in mid to late July
• Peace, Love and Hippies Festival - Lapeer in early August
• Rubber Ducky Festival - Bellaire in mid-August
• Yale Bologna Festival - Yale in late July
• YogaFest - Vanderbilt in late July

Needless to say, Michigan has its share of weird events but there is one event that may be the crappiest of all that may wind up getting televised.

One of Michigan's Crappiest Events May Get Televised

As you can see above, the Saginaw Outhouse Races are coming to Hoyt Park on February 15, 2025. This will be the 11th annual event and if all goes well it may wind up on TV.

The event is free to enter with cash prizes for 1st ($300), 2nd ($150), and 3rd ($50). You must be at least 14 years old to enter the race. There are two divisions which are high school and adult. You enter as a team with a minimum of 3 but no more than 5. One person rides the outhouse down the track while the other members push or pull the outhouse. You make your outhouse out of wood, cardboard or whatever you can find. The outhouse must be on skis, have a toilet, and roll of toilet paper. The Saginaw Career Complex students build outhouses that are up for sale for $150 then all you have to do is decorate it. Sounds pretty simple and fun.

According to the Saginaw Outhouse Race Facebook page, ESPN has reached out and in talks about covering the event on TV. I have a feeling that is going to boost up entries in a big way with potential TV time involved.

According to MLive, ESPNs Go Live Sports Cast plan to be at the event and if all goes well the taping could wind up on "ESON8 The Ocho" showing highlights from humorous events. You can't get much funnier than an outhouse race which isn't that crappy after all.
