New Convenience Market Opening in Downtown Grand Rapids
It's crazy to think that when I first moved to Grand Rapids six years ago there wasn't any grocery stores downtown and now there's Bridge Street Market and DGX. There was the long-standing Grand Central Market but unfortunately that closed during the pandemic. However, a new convenience store to grab necessities and food will be opening in Downtown Grand Rapids in less than a month.
I was walking downtown along Ottawa Ave. on Sunday afternoon when I noticed a sign on a door that said "OPENING SOON" and it was for a place I've never heard.
Of course curiosity got the best of me so I had to do some digging and find out more.
Well, a quick Google search led me to an actual website and it turns out Webster's Market is a new convenience store that'll be open September 1st. The website doesn't indicate too much but there's pictures of deli products, sandwiches, and a bowl of oatmeal. The about section from Google does give a more descriptive response of what to expect from the new store:
Small Market stocking dairy, ready made items, pop, energy drinks, candy, gum, bread, cereal, salads, ready made sandwiches, ice cream, toiletry items, and many more foods and staple items.
So basically a one-stop-shop for all your necessities. Webster's does make sure to indicate, though, that they don't sell any alcohol or tobacco products. So for some it may cover almost *all* of your needs lol.
Webster's is located in The Waters Center, right next to Sundance restaurant, and across the street from Hyatt Place. It's replacing where Jam N' Bean used to be at 161 Ottawa Ave. NW.
The new convenience store will be open daily 8a-8p M-Th, 8a-11p Fri & Sat, and 10a-4p on Sunday's.
