Looking for some new clothes? How about recycled and sustainable clothing? GVSU students Chad Howell and Jack Kleinrichert have launched a new clothing line.

The new fashion brand is called Forever Great. Through the use of recycled materials, the two aim for the preservation of the Great Lakes for future generations to enjoy. It's a partnership with the non-profit Alliance for the Great Lakes where they give eight percent of our profits directly to them through our Give Gr8 initiative.

Howell told Fox 17,

"We wanted Great Lakes to be involved, we wanted the message of sustainability and keeping them around. Just Forever Great came out of all that... the mission of our company is to promote awareness toward plastic pollution in the Great Lakes, just bring a heightened sense of awareness to the real issues."

Howell and Kleinrichert are both business majors who grew up in Michigan enjoying the Great Lakes. They say the fashion industry is one of the largest pollutant industries in the world, it's the second largest pollutant industry. By creating clothing from recycled materials, the two hope to combat that along with the "fast fashion" trend.

The pair is planning to organize several beach clean-ups this summer too.
