Mystery Of The Shot Down UFO Of Lake Huron Solved
I remember a UFO being spotted over Lake Huron and it was shot down by a U.S. plane but I never heard the outcome of the wreckage. Turns out, the U.S. had a reason for keeping the wreckage quiet.
According to WOOD, U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard units searched for the wreckage but did not locate it. Three weeks later the wreckage was discovered after it had drifted to the Lake Huron shoreline. Neither the U.S. nor Canada said a word about finding the wreckage. Speculation from civilians thinking an alien aircraft was shot down only increased as a result of governmental silence.
The object was said to be a weather-monitoring device that did not pose a military threat to the U.S. or Canada so they kept the story quiet to avoid embarrassment. It doesn't look good when military forces and resources are used to shoot down a weather balloon.
We still don't know everything about this balloon and another that was shot down in a remote area of Alaska around the same time. We heard a similar excuse of a weather balloon at Rosewell.
