A mayor was murdered in the middle of the street, a serial bomber was never caught, a notorious gangster escaped from prison and made Muskegon his home -- these are just some of the stories you'll hear on The Lakeshore Museum's upcoming "Legends & Lore" walking tour.

Museum Program Manager Jacki Huss tells WZZM-13,

Just like other towns, we've had a lit of different events and occurrences that have happened here. There's so much people likely don't know about.

The tour is October 8, 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. downtown Muskegon and will cover 10 city blocks. During the 90 minutes, you'll hear tales of Muskegon lore, legends, and scandals, plus notable residents, buildings, and events. The tour will begin and end at the Lakeshore Museum.

Tickets must be purchased in advance here or by viiting the museum store. Tickets are $15 per person; $13 for museum members. Participants are asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
