Here are several backroads in Michigan:

1.  Tunnel of Trees on M-119.  Even though I've never been through the tunnel of trees, everyone I talk to says the same thing, it's simply beautiful.  Onlyinyourstate.com tells us that this magical journey between Cross Village and Harbor Springs will make you feel as though you've been transported to a real life fairy tale.

2.  River Road Scenic Byway.  This is a 22 mile drive which winds alongside the Au Sable River and travels westward through the Huron National Forest.  Onlyinyourstate.com recommends this drive because there is so much scenery to love along the way.

3.  Whitefish Bay National Forest Scenic Byway.  If it wasn't for onlyinyourstate.com, I wouldn't know anything about these scenic back roads.  This drive is in the Upper Peninsula and can be found within Hiawatha National Forest.  The route ends near Point Iroquois.

4.  M-28 from Marquette to Munising.  According to onlyinyourstate.com, this is a stunning drive in the Upper Peninsula along the coast of Lake Superior.  This 43 mile stretch of road gives you beautiful views of the water, and it ends in Munising.  You'll definitely want to take a boat tour to enjoy a closer look at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
