Michigan’s Signature Ridiculous Weather On Full Display in Video
Last night, I was at my weekly kickball game, and in typical Michigan fashion, halfway through the game, an insane downpour of rain brought our game to a halt. Then, five minutes later, the rainclouds had dissipated, the sun was out, and the sky opened up to a beautiful sunset.

If you've lived in Michigan long enough, you'll know this is a pretty run-of-the-mill day. If I had said it snowed for five minutes during my game instead of rained, it wouldn't sound all that surprising. A live webcam video posted on Drummond Island's Facebook page, featuring a time-lapse of one day, captured some of the most Michigan weather caught on tape.
Drummond Island's Ferry Service
Drummond Island in Michigan's Upper Peninsula boasts the largest closed-loop trail system for off-roading in the state, making it a popular destination for anyone seeking a day on their ATV, Snowmobile, or motorcycle. The only problem is that, well, it's an island and can only be reached via ferry.

Drummond Island's ferry runs like clockwork 365 days a year, with a trip taking place almost every hour. To give guests an idea of what to expect before arriving, the Drummond Island Tourism Association has installed live webcams throughout the island, providing real-time updates on traffic and weather conditions.
One of those webcams captured a stormy day on the island, turning 8 hours into one minute. The day featured two rainstorms, with the wind so mighty that it blew sideways at one point. Then, in a short time, it was sunny and the pavement had completely dried, all the while the ferry continued its diligent route back and forth from the island.
The only thing that would have completed the Michigan weather BINGO card would have been if it snowed and/or a waterspout appeared in the lake. Either way, shout out to the ferry team for persevering all day, every day.
