Now that we're over six months into 2026, we can confidently say this has been an insane year for UFOs/UAPs. Not just for Michigan, but for the entire United States. Just like last year, the US government has unsealed and released a batch of government files related to alien/extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Plus, even Steven Spielberg is back with a movie all about aliens.

With public interest in aliens at its highest in years, we're taking a look at some of the sightings reported around Michigan since the beginning of the year. These are citizen reports submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), some of which have been ranked Tier 1. As always, these sightings are open to interpretation.

Let's start with the most credible UAP sightings, with the Tier 1 sighting coming from Clare, MI, on the 13th day of 2026. Someone noticed a "huge disk-like craft with lots of lights on it." While no footage was supplied, the post's details were enough for the NUFORC to deem it Tier 1.

Then, in Holland, someone witnessed a very bright circle hover in the sky, "and just flew off" 10 seconds later into the clouds. The other tier 2 sighting took place in Auburn Hills, where another oval was seen at "a 45 degree angle."

In total, 27 UFO reports have been submitted this year, with 9 of them having been disproved by NUFORC. You can view all the submissions for Michigan here. Again, take all these postings with a grain of salt.
