Summer is known for its long hot days and short nights, but now that we've hit October, the weather is going to cool off and our nights have already gotten much shorter. These shorter days mean the inevitable ending of Daylight Savings Time, a time most Michiganders are probably happy to embrace.

Daylight Savings is OVER

The first Sunday of November, this year being November 3rd, marks the end of Daylight Savings Time and we're going to return to Standard Time. This means that Michigan is officially one month away from Michiganders being able to embrace an extra hour of sleep.

While most clocks perform the time change on their own these days, if you're like me and still rocking a classic alarm clock, you're going to want to set your clock one hour back. The change itself takes place at 3 am, so your clock will go from 2:59 am back to 2 am.

Why do we still have Daylight Savings Time?

Whether or not Daylight Savings Time should be banned has been a topic of debate for years. Michigan has seen legislation introduced as recently as 2021, however, the bill died while in the Senate.
