Michigan Outdoorsmen There’s a New Place to Hunt,Trap, and Fish
If you like to hunt and fish there is a new place to go in Southwest Michigan and with the fall hunt coming you may want to start scouting your spots now.
Hunting and Fishing Spots in Michigan
There are great areas to hunt all over Michigan. The problem is, if you don't own your land or know someone who does, you are limited to hunting on state or federal land. Michigan is filled with state and federal hunting lands but it helps when a new one opens up to get there early to stake out your spot before someone hangs a stand there.
The same goes for fishing in Michigan. Michiganders are blessed by having the Great Lakes and all the inland lakes and rivers filled with fish. Anytime you get access to a new location to fish, you get access to some fish that have not been fished. Spots like those can become your new honey-hole.

New Place to Hunt, Fish, and Trap in Michigan
For those located in the Southwest Michigan area that hunt, trap, or fish, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has opened a new state game area.
The state of Michigan recently purchased 350 acres in Waverly Township near Paw Paw to create the Paw Paw State Game Area. The previous landowner kept this area protected and now it is open for Michigan hunters and fishermen to use.
According to FOX 17, the DNR has 1.2 miles of frontage on the Paw Paw River, marshes, wetlands, and floodplain forests for outdoorsmen to enjoy. This will make for good hunting of all species as well as waterfowl. There is a lot of shore fishing available too. Hunters will also be allowed to trap in the area. This summer the DNR will add signs so you know where you are allowed to enter plus they will be adding a parking lot.
