Each year, there are several reports across Michigan of unidentified flying objects. In 2025, there have been at least 36 UFO sightings. Historically, Michigan ranks 10th in the U.S. for UFO sightings, with a total of 3,794 reported since 1936.

The most recent UFO sighting in Michigan was on June 29, when a person reported seeing a mass group of reflective objects near Detroit. The sighting was in broad daylight with no aircraft visible in the area. The shiny objects were seen for about 10 minutes before dispersing.

Why Is There a Hexagon in the Kalamazoo Sky?

According to FOX 17, Several Kalamazoo residents wondered what the flying hexagon was. The hexagon, suspended from a helicopter flying over Texas, Oshtemo, Comstock, and Ross Townships' fields.

The hexagon hanging from the helicopter is used to find aquifers below the Earth's surface. The hexagon can locate water up to 1,000 feet beneath the surface. The device works like a metal detector, but detects water instead, allowing you to create 3D maps of underground water supplies.
