This joint has also been praised for serving the best pizza in the state... but it's not the kind you might expect, given its location.

Supino Pizzeria has been crowned the best Italian restaurant in Michigan. It is located in Detroit - but it's not serving up Detroit-style pizza. It's a thin pizza the restaurant describes as "East-Coast style." It actually sounds like it might be similar to the iconic Pizza Napoletana of Naples, Italy.

The dining destination has eight red sauces and five whites, with your choice of plenty of toppings like smoked ham, house-made Italian sausage, smoked chicken, pepperoni, and a variety of veggies and cheeses. There's lots of specials too. Below is the "The Harvest" featuring roasted butternut squash, fried sage, smoked Gouda and parmigiano reggiano!
