Husband and wife team Rose Forrest (aka Mama Rose) and Bruce Cunningham opened The Jamaican Pot at 14615 Eight Mile W. in 2014. The restaurant bills itself "Michigan's #1 Jamaican Restaurant" and "Home of The Authentic Boneless Jerk Chicken."

It started with Rose’s love of cooking her homeland Jamaican cuisine for her family, and Bruce’s desire to share his love of Rose’s cooking with everyone. What was once a simple dream of cooking for those around them has turned into something much greater.

In addition to jerk chicken, on the menu you'll find curry chicken, brown stew, BBQ chicken, jerk oxtails, curry goat, pepper steak, and vegetarian options.
