I have a personal gripe with the McRib, McDonald's iconic meal that looks like a rack of ribs but is really just a pork patty dipped in BBQ sauce and served with onions and pickles. I've never had a McRib, nor do I really want one.

My feud started because it has periodically reappeared on the menu since it was removed in 2005. In 2022, the McRib embarked on a "farewell tour"... only to return in 2023, 2024, and now 2025. That is the opposite of a farewell.

But while the McRib is coming back in states around the country, it looks like it really did bid farewell to Michigan because the McRib is NOT back this year, according to the McRib Locator. Yes, that's a thing.

The McRib Returns...But Not To Michigan

McDonald's announced on its corporate site that "it was that time of year again", with the McRib returning to big cities like Miami, Dallas, St. Louis, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, and Los Angeles, and more starting November 11. Sadly, Michigan is not included in the "and more" part of that text.

However: Holiday Pies!

However, like the rest of the nation, Michigan received Holiday Pies on November 14th. These pies feature "a creamy, smooth custard nestled in a flaky, buttery crust glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles."

However, this feels like a consolation prize, considering the McRib has some pretty loyal fans. If the McRib ever comes back again *cough*, hopefully Michigan will be included next time.
