The first decade of the 21st Century was a good time for Mayday Parade, so it makes sense that the band would want to revisit that era, especially with a special album anniversary coming up. But the band is doing more than just celebrating 2009's Anywhere But Here album this fall, as they're surrounding those dates with the "Forever Emo" tour.

The trek is expected to find the band playing some of their favorite emo era hits from other artists, while working in some of their original material as well.

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had fun singing Jimmy Eat World songs with friends and strangers alike at after parties/emo nights/whatever you want to call them,” frontman Derek Sanders told Alternative Press about the inspiration for the tour. “We’ve done many of them in many different places around the world. Sometimes they make me feel like there was a part of me that was supposed to change but never did.”

“Forever Emo this fall will be a concert featuring Mayday Parade performing songs live; mostly covers with a few originals as well," the singer added. "We’ve also partnered with local emo night DJs to add to the event in each city. There has been a lot of effort put into learning how to perform these songs well, and we’re gonna play them loud, with heart and passion. Come sing along."

The group recently revealed a handful of dates celebrating their Anywhere But Here album as well, and those shows will come in the midst of the run. See all of their stops below and get ticketing information here.
