The Ambassador was built in 3 years, and in the process, it claimed an estimated 60 workers' lives. Building a bridge is very dangerous work, especially if you add in working in freezing temperatures. There is not a lot of information regarding how workers died, but much like the building of the Mighty Mac, I'm sure many fell to their death in a variety of ways.

A man who was working on the Ambassador Bridge on July 12, 2023, fell off the bridge. The man fell from some scaffolding while working on the bridge but when rescued he told the people he didn't know how he fell.

According to WXYZ, a man from Detroit saw the worker fall and was near the boat mail office and notified them and they were able to get to the man quickly and were able to pull him from the Detroit River. Rescuers were surprised that the worker was still alive but they quickly got him to the shore and off to the hospital where the man is receiving treatment. There is no word on the extent of his injuries but he was able to talk to the rescuers.
