Ludington, Mich. will take aim at a Guinness World Record this Saturday, June 8th for the fourth year in a row.

According to MLive, it all started back in the summer of 2016 when Ludington claimed the Guinness World Record for the longest ice cream dessert. It was 2,970 feet of ice cream, cherries and whipped topping. The record didn't last long when Nashville Michigan stepped up with a 3,656 foot Sunday to take the record in the fall of 2016.

Then in 2017, Spectrum Health in Ludington broke the record of the most people making sand angels with 1,387 which they still hold today.

In 2018, the record of longest lines of bikes both moving and standing still was attempted by the Shoreline Cycling Club but neither record was broken.

Now in 2019, Ludington will try and break the record for the largest dessert party the world has every seen. With 2,000 people planning to attend the outdoor dessert party from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Rotary Park.

As of now, the record has been held by a Mr. Puff in Vadodara, India for 1,445 people.

If you would like to attend and be a part of potential history, registration is at 3 p.m. and dessert will get served up at 4 p.m. If you are going to attend, organizers aks that you register online here. Just a heads up, if you pre-register you are not guaranteed to participate due to a cap being put on the event for logistic purposes.
