Long Road Distillers in the Running For USA Today’s ‘Best Craft Specialty Spirits Distillery’
With their "Michigin" recently named the best gin in the world, Long Road Distillers is raking in the honors.
The Grand Rapids' distillery is currently in the running for "Best Craft Specialty Spirits Distillery" in a USA Today 10Best readers poll.
To determine the top 20, USA Today asked a panel of American spirits experts to nominate their favorite best craft specialty spirits distilleries in the USA:
"Many of these distilleries work in small batches using locally-sourced ingredients. Many are family-owned. Many painstakingly distill their spirits using a blend of traditional and modern techniques. All take pride in crafting unique spirits worthy of sipping as well as mixing."
Now it's up to a public vote!
Here's USA Today's praise for Long Road Distillers' Aquavit:
Among the spirits made by the folks at Long Road Distillers in Grand Rapids are two varieties of aquavit, a popular Scandinavian spirit. The Original Aquavit has a profile of herbs and spices, while the limited release Old Aquavit rests in used whiskey barrels for 12 months, lending it greater complexity with notes of dill and caraway."
According to Long Road's website, their Aquavit recently took home "Best of Show" and "Best in Class" at the American Craft Spirits Association awards and the "Consumer's Choice Award" at the SIP Awards International Consumer Tasting.
Check out the competition and cast your vote here! Voting ends on Monday, September 11 at noon.
