5 Things More Believable Than The Lions Starting 9-1
I don't think it can be stated enough how fantastic it is to watch the Detroit Lions not only win but absolutely dominate their opponents. The Lions have had 3 games this season with 30+ point win margins, 2 of which they scored over 50 points.
Since I was born in 1999, the Lions have only had 7 winning seasons, and only two have been 10+ win seasons.
When you grow up watching and supporting the team that had the first 0-16 season, your expectations are pretty low. So to have a team that is now 9-1 is pretty unbelievable. In fact, there are a few things that are more believable to me than the Lions being 9-1:

A Tsunami on Lake Huron
Michigan is not known for having earthquakes, so the prospect of ever having to worry about a tsunami causing massive destruction along our coastlines is pretty minuscule. I would find it more believable that not only would we have an earthquake, but also have one big enough to create worrisome waves. I'd believe that before a 9-1 Lions start.
The Michigan Dogman Is REAL
Michigan's most well-known cryptid story involves the Michigan Dogman, a legend that a half-man half-dog (wolf) appears every year ending in 7. The legend took hold after a local radio DJ created a song about the Dogman, which prompted people to come out of the woodwork with Dogman sightings. The only problem: the dogman was totally made up.
So, before this season, I would have been less shocked about a half-man beast existing than the Lions being a real threat.

Michigan Returns To Prohibition
Michigan is known for its craft breweries and wine scene, whether that means stopping in Grand Rapids aka Beer City, USA., or going on a wine tour in Northern Michigan. That being said if we were to see legislation for the state to become an alcohol-free place, it would honestly shock me less.
The woes that Lions teams of old have given fans for years I'm sure have caused many to drink.
Mackinac Bridge Closes
The Mighty Mak, Michigan's famously green bridge that connects the lower peninsula to the upper peninsula, is traveled by millions of visitors every year. Thousands walk on the bridge for the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk. The bridge has adorned Michigander's driver's licenses for years. It is a signature part of this state.
So imagine how utterly shockingly it would be for the bridge to suddenly need to be closed down. Why this would ever need to happen, I'm not sure. But that just shows how unprecedented this Lions team's start is.
Raining Cats and Dogs
Okay sure, this exaggeration, but for conversation's sake, I'm sure there was a time that at least a few of you out there would not have been shocked to see cats and dogs falling from the sky before you'd hear a Lions team be called "super bowl contenders".
I say all this but am beyond ecstatic to see the Lions and Dan Campbell be tied for the best record in the entire NFL. It's unprecedented. Hopefully, the Lions will continue their dominance and get a trophy in the case (knocking on wood).
