Leader Of The Michigan Magic Mushroom Church Arrested
A church based in Michigan uses magic mushrooms as part of its religious sacrament. The church's leader has been arrested on federal charges.
What's a Magic Mushroom?
Growing up in a Michigan church, I never once heard my pastor mention magic mushrooms or any other type of drug. Alcohol came up since that is mentioned in the Bible but nothing on shrooms.
Magic mushrooms contain the chemicals psilocybin or psilocin, which scientists say cause you to see, hear, and feel things that are not real with hallucinations. I'm unsure how that fits into scripture but that is what they are.
I'm not sure how the magic mushroom church uses them but shrooms combine in fresh, dried, or powder form. Powdered shrooms can be snorted, or injected. Some people drink it in tea or fruit juice, and some cook it with food. Most people chew up the dried mushrooms and swallow them.

Leader Of The Magic Mushroom Church in Michigan Arrested
I've read the red writing in the New Testament of the Bible which were Jesus' words and not once do I remember him saying "Take now the Holy magic mushroom and bask in my greatness." That being said, there is a church in Michigan that uses these psychedelics as part of their worshiping.
According to WUSA, the leader of the Soul Tribes Ministries in Detroit, Bobby Shumake Japhia was arrested on federal charges involving a multimillion-dollar pump-and-dump scheme.
Japhia was involved in a fraud scheme with the magic mushroom company Minerco. The company CEO Julius Makiri Jenge and Japhia worked to mislead the public with false press releases to get investors to pump up the stock value so they could later dump their shares for profit. Jenge was captured and released on bond in August while Japhia will see a judge in D.C. this week.
I wonder if Japhia saw all this in advance during a hallucination. Probably not, he was too busy counting the nearly $9 million he scammed with the scheme.
