
1,000 Kroger Workers To Lose Jobs In Company Shakeup
Grocery store giant, Kroger, is restructuring the company and 1,000 employees will be laid off.
Inflation and tariffs are showing signs of Michiganders spending less due to high prices and the fear things will only get worse. At the same time, many business have either closed or are letting workers go as part of restructuring processes to try and stay afloat.

Kroger is based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. The first store opened in 1883, which makes the chain 142 years old. Founded by Barney Kroger, the grocery store in downtown Cincinnati has grown into the largest supermarket chain in the United States.
The first store for Kroger to open in Michigan, was in Ypsilanti in 1917. There are now just over 120 locations in the Mitten State. Kroger has always promised "Fresh for Everyone" high-quality, fresh food accessible to all its customers.

Kroeger To Cut 1,000 Jobs In Cost-Saving Move
If you are an employee of Kroger that has worked your way into the corporate side of its business, you may want to get your resume together. According to MLive, Kroger is laying off nearly 1,000 corporate employees as part of a restructuring to meet today's challenges.
The only good news to this story is that the layoffs will not affect those who work in Kroger grocery stores, manufacturing facilities, or distribution centers.

The corporate layoffs are supposed to help lower prices during these tough times. Kroger also plans to open new stores, and create additional store-level jobs which will be great for those looking for work in communities where stores are located.
