Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach is a huge advocate of mental health awareness in both his lyrics and personal life. On May 18, he'll team up with world-renowned chef Brian Tsao to co-host the "Small Bites of Hope" pop-up culinary event to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention, raising funds for the Hope For the Day non-profit organization.

The event will be held from 6PM through 9PM at the Gibson Guitars Showroom in the Hit Factory Studios on 251 West 54th Street in New York City. Tsao, best known for his appearances on the Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay and Chopped, will cater the event. Signature cocktails, craft beer and dessert will be provided by select vendors as well, all in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

"I'm honored to be a part of Small Bites of Hope to help raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention with my pal Chef Brian Tsao! It is a subject near and dear to me, so having a dialogue and helping shine some light on a topic that is not talked about enough is important," said Leach.

Brian Tsao's words are harmonious with those from the Killswitch singer as the chef stated, "For too long, mental health has been ignored in the professional kitchens. With Small Bites of Hope I want to present people in these harsh working environments with the opportunity to get help or give help to others that may need it. It only takes one to start the conversation that can resonate and help many others and this is that first major step for myself along with my friends in Hope for the Day and Jesse Leach!"

In other news, Killswitch recently unveiled their own signature beer, "Alive or Just Brewing," which will coincide with a vinyl re-issue of the band's landmark album, Alive or Just Breathing, out May 12. To pre-order the album and explore bundle deals, visit the band's webstore.
