Now that the stay-at-home order has been lifted, more and more things are starting to open up and return to somewhat of a normal schedule. The latest is  Kent County Parks announced they’ll be opening up county beaches public restrooms and campgrounds this weekend.
According to the statement from Kent County Parks, all county playgrounds, the swimming beaches at Millennium Park, Long Lake Park, Myers Lake Park, and  Wabasis Lake Park are all now open to the public, as is the Hoffman golf course. You can also disc golf at Brewer Park, Fallasburg Park, or Johnson Park.
The county has "enhanced cleaning protocols" at all public restroom facilities, so they are extra sanitized,  but they do warn that the playground areas, while open, are not sanitized. This is also clearly marked with signs at the playgrounds.
The rules for attending any of the facilities are if you’re in the same household you don’t have to be socially distanced but anyone not of the same household should social distance a minimum of 6 feet apart.
Other facilities within the county park system will be opening up in stages. As of this Friday, June 5th,  pavilions, public restrooms, and group picnic areas will reopen. Picnic areas and pavilions will be limited to 100 people or less.
The Millennium Park Splashpad will open the following Monday, June 8th, with a limited capacity of 50 people.
Finally, the Wabasis Lake Campground is planning to reopen Friday, June 12th, but they're taking reservations now.
The recreation fields and enclosed shelters will remain closed at the current time. Also, a casualty to COVID-19 is the Summer Nature Series that's usually hosted at Wabasis Lake; that has been canceled this summer.
Dan DeLooff, Kent County Parks Superintendent said in a statement, posted on MLive,

“We are excited to welcome visitors back to Kent County Parks and for them to experience the physical and mental health benefits of being outdoors. However, it is critical that visitors follow our new rules that prevent overcrowding and support social distancing to ensure our parks are safe for everyone.”
