Jonathan Davis Confirms ‘Black Labyrinth’ Solo Album Title, Reveals Artwork + Track Listing
Korn frontman Jonathan Davis will remain busy this year, stepping outside of the group for his debut solo album. The disc is titled Black Labyrinth and fans can check out the album artwork and track listing at the bottom of this post.
Black Labyrinth will be released by Sumerian Records on May 25 and pre-orders for physical editions of the album are available now at Davis' website as well as through Sumerian Records. Check out 30-second clips of the songs in the player above.
Davis recently revealed "What It Is," the lead single from the album, while other key songs on the disc highlighted in the press release include the melodic and atmospheric "Final Days" and the rock anthem "Underneath My Skin," while the songs "What You Believe" and "Everyone" have hints of Davis' Korn past.
The singer reportedly was inspired by the Ganzfield Experiment and the out of body experiences that often come with it. He focused the music on the new album on themes of religion, consumerism and apathy. "There's a level of enlightenment I want to achieve," the singer says. "With all of the bullshit going, everyone is stuck on their fucking cell phones. This takes us way out of that. No matter how hard you try to fight bad things in your life, life will be what it is. It's up to you to accept that, combat it, and move forward, or it's up to you to be in denial. Then, it becomes a thorn in your side until you finally deal with it. This is it. Just deal with it."
