Joel Hoekstra is one of the guitarists for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

If Joel looks familiar, maybe you have seen him perform with TSO before or Night Ranger, Whitesnake, Cher, or the Rock of Ages Broadway production.

Joel is a fantastic guitar player and in every picture of him, he is usually smiling. He has a great attitude, work ethic, and positive energy that can sometimes be rare in the music business.

Joel checked in with 979 GRD's Tommy Carroll to talk about the upcoming Trans-Siberian Orchestra shows that are coming to Van Andel Arena on December 26. Tickets are on sale and moving fast, and you can you tickets by clicking here.

Joel told Tommy about the behind-the-scenes workings of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and how there is an East Coast and West Coast version of the band in order to be able to play all the different areas of the United States in a short time near the holidays. Because there are two lineups of TSO the bands are able to play 104 shows in 62 cities in 46 days.

Joel also touches a little on his time with Whitesnake but one of the things you will learn most about is his and the rest of TSOs' dedication to putting on an incredible show every single night and many of those feature 2 shows a day. Check out the full conversation below.
