The Lions had a rather lackluster start to the season against the Green Bay Packers, and fans were quick to (over)react that maybe the hype of the last two seasons was gone now that the team lost both their offensive and defensive coordinators to other teams. Goff had a rough game, and the defense had a single sack.

Well, those fears have been squashed for now after the Lions absolutely ravaged the Chicago Bears (and former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson) in Detroit, 52-21. It was a career night for Jared Goff, and the home crowd was electric, but the cameras caught one moment with a particular celebrity that raised many eyebrows because he seemed a bit, well, out of place.

Jimmy Fallon Visits Detroit

During the first quarter of the game, the TV panned to the box seating area, where celebrities are known to sit, as seen when they showed Eminem and Barry Sanders sitting next to each otherwho are regulars at Lions games.

However, the camera then panned to another set of people: Keegan-Michael Key, a Michigan native, and Jimmy Fallon, who was waving a big Lions flag.

For whatever reason, Jimmy Fallon's appearance at a Lions game feels like a big deal. Naturally, the Lions' time in the spotlight the last few seasons would attract bigger names to be in attendance, but Jimmy Fallon being out and about like a normal person is wild. So it bears the question: what got Jimmy to leave NYC?

 The Tonight Show In Detroit

Turns out, Jimmy was mixing business with pleasure as he went to the game while his staff was busy setting up the stage for a live taping of the show in Detroit at the Detroit Opera House. Fallon was joined by his Lions game companion, Keegan-Michael Key, and Detroit Pistons point guard Cade Cunningham.

Aidan Hutchinson also went straight from the game to make a special appearance.

All the taping dates are sold out, though, as the above tweet suggests, there are sometimes extra tickets available. It's great to see more and more celebrities making the trip to Detroit to visit the city.
