During the September 10th live episode of WWE's 'Monday Night Raw' in Montreal, Jerry "The King" Lawler collapsed at the ringside announce table.  WWE is now reporting that the 62-year-old suffered a heart attack.

Lawler had been victorious along with his partner Randy Orton in a tag team match against WWE Champion CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler about 30 minutes prior to his collapse.  He was rushed to the backstage area where he was tended to by WWE medical staff, before being transported to a medical facility in Montreal.

A joint statement from his girlfriend, Lauryn Laine McBride and his son, Brian Christopher reads...

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.  It has been confirmed that Jerry did have a heart attack...he is in stable condition and breathing on his own & heart is stable.  He is a strong man and we will get him back at his best as soon as I can get him home!

Lawler is a former AWA World Heavyweight Champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame by William Shatner in 2007.  He has been a commentator on 'Raw' for many years.  I had a chance to work on a couple of shows with Jerry Lawler in 2004 at ICP's Gathering Of The Juggalos outside of Cleveland, Ohio.  I only spent a little bit of time hanging out with him backstage, but based on that short meeting I can tell you that Lawler was super cool and treated me with respect, even if he had no idea who I was.  I wish him a speedy recovery.  Monday nights will not be the same until he comes back.  - Shaffee
