The calendar says Halloween is on the horizon, not April Fool's Day. Still that hasn't stopped Jered Threatin from his latest stunt. According to the musician, he's created 10 additional fake bands and managed to book some of them into venues that he previously fooled with his prior stunt.

For those who need a refresher, in 2018 the musician managed to book an entire European tour by defrauding promoters and pretending his band had an actual huge social media fanbase. In addition, he created fake YouTube video of his group to help them get booked. The jig was up when he recruited a backing band to join him on tour, eventually playing the booked venues to tiny crowds.

Now, in a new chat with Ultimate-Guitar.com, Threatin claims that he's got a documentary and a scripted feature film in the works. Plus he has a new stunt planned. The musician revealed that he's been in contact with one of the venues booked and will be returning to The Underworld one year to the day from when he began his original stunt.

"This will not be a normal show. It will be a work of art," says Threatin, adding, "My backing band for this event is Elijah Stavely on drums, Chris Jaxon on bass and Brandon Herrin on rhythm guitar. On my last tour, I had the tour booked before I even hired a backing band. So, I ended up hiring some low-level people that would effectively just stand there, hold instruments, and pose as a band. I knew we were playing to no one, so I wasn’t particularly concerned with their musical abilities. This time around I had more time to audition musicians and assess skill. It was a much different process."

Threatin says his second album, Infamous, is nearly complete and will arrive next year. In addition, he claims that there's a Threatin documentary and feature-length, scripted film in the works.

Meanwhile, Treatin, who views his actions as "a work of art," says he may not be done with his stunts, explaining, "I have already begun booking my next concept tour; The Threatin Incognito Tour. I have created 10 fake bands, all with their own band names, backstories and the right image and social media numbers to fool booking agents and venues. I have already booked two shows at two of the venues I fooled during my stunt last year; the Bristol Exchange and The Asylum in Birmingham."

He adds, "Hiding in the event schedules of these two venues are bands that do not exist. But, they were booked solely on image and social media numbers. We’ll see if these venues are able to identify the fake bands before the day of the event where I will otherwise arrive and perform a surprise show. I have done this just to show it could be done, again. Eight more venues in the U.S. and U.K. will have the same quarrel. The industry is built on lies, so, lies is what you feed it."

Stay tuned to see what the next chapter in the saga provides.
