With the expansion of telephones and cell phones, the scammers are really at it again.

They are now diving into the world of phone scams.

These phone scams allow scammers to plot on stealing your hard-earned money and/or your identity.

There are so many different phone scams but one of the major ones that people know of is "The One Ring Scam."

The way the scam works is you get a call from a number you do not recognize. It will ring one time.

If you return the call, that is when they will bill your phone for up to $30 per minute! Outrageous right?!

Sadly, there is nothing you can do once the charges are made since you were the one who returned the phone call.

That is how the scammers get ya.

It may be common sense to not answer unfamiliar phone calls but you never know.

Rule of thumb: if you see an unfamiliar number, do not answer, and do not try to call them back.

The Federal Trade Commission released a list of the ten different area codes that these "One Ring Scams" would most likely use.

If you see any areas, that look like these, ABORT MISSION! Do not pass go! Do not collect $200. Do not answer the call!
