
Michigan Amazon Prime Users Could Get Automatic Refunds
For those who have an Amazon Prime membership in Michigan, you could see a little surprise show up without having to swipe to purchase anything.
Federal regulators recently went after Amazon, saying that the company made it way too easy to sign up for Prime and way too confusing to cancel.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, millions of people were signed up for paid Prime plans through a sneaky design, with tricks and roadblocks in the cancellation process.
Who Qualifies for Amazon’s Prime Refunds?
Amazon has agreed to a massive settlement without admitting any wrongdoing, and now real money is flowing back to its customers. Under the deal, Amazon is on the hook for $1.5 billion in refunds to U.S. Prime members, plus a $1 billion civil penalty.
It may be important for you if you are a Michigan shopper; some Prime users are getting automatic refunds. The FTC says Amazon started sending payments on November 12. If you qualify, you won't have to fill out a form or try to call anybody. You should get a direct email from Amazon with details on how to claim your refund through Venmo or PayPal.
How Michigan Prime Members Will Get Paid
You may be eligible if you signed up for Prime between June 2019 and June 202_ and barely used it, especially if you didn't use Prime benefits more than three times in a year. Those customers could get up to $51 back in subscription fees.
That random email from Amazon may not be a scam after all, and not one you want to avoid.
