Michigan has spent generations putting America on wheels, so it feels appropriate that three of the country's ten longest-lasting trucks roll out of Flint with Michigan fingerprints all over them.

Three Michigan-Built Trucks Make the Top 10

According to USA Today's report on an iSeeCars longevity study, the GMC Sierra 2500HD ranks fifth among pickups most likely to reach 250,000 miles, with a 22% chance. The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD sits eighth at 17.4%, while the Silverado 2500HD ranks tenth at 16%.

Flint Assembly recently celebrated building its 16 millionth vehicle, fittingly a Silverado 2500HD. Employees handle thousands of operations across body, paint, trim, chassis, and final assembly.

In other words, these trucks have been touched by so many Michigan hands; chances are there are faint notes of Vernors lingering in them when they roll into dealership lots.

Every truck leaving Flint carries a little piece of the Mitten State: skilled labor, automotive history, and the stubborn refusal to quit just because the odometer has developed a sixth digit.
