Magician’s Graves in Colon, Michigan: The Magic Capitol of the World
Michigan is home to the Magic Capitol of the World...is it any wonder the famous Master of Escape Harry Houdini performed here until his final day?
We're referring to the small town of Colon in St. Joseph County.
Every summer, Colon holds Magic Week, where top magicians from all over the world travel to the town to get together and entertain the thousands of people who arrive. Colon also has three magic shops where amateur and novice magicians can get the items and instructions they need to become top-notch magicians.

Along with a magic theater, Colon has facilities – like the Abbott Magic Company - that manufacture magician supplies and tricks that are used by magicians from all over the world.
The Lakeside Cemetery contains the graves of 30 worldwide famous magicians including The Great Blackstone, Harry Blackstone Jr., Ted Banks, Jack Gwynne (who worked for Harry Houdini and showed Orson Welles how to perform tricks), Walter “Zaney” Blaney, Little Johnny Jones, and 24 others.
The gallery below show a handful of Colon's magician graves.
