Strawberry Whippets? How Galaxy Gas Adds a New Flavor to Michigan’s Drug Issue

There's a growing drug problem in Michigan that many should be aware of, because it's not one of the typical "drugs" you would imagine.

What is Galaxy Gas?

Founded in 2021, Galaxy Gas is a new company geared toward the culinary world. They innovated, and distribute products that have to do with pressurized nitrous gas, often used in pressurized containers to make instant whipped cream, pickled vegetables, and other pressure-induced food items.

The one thing Galaxy Gas does different, though, is adding flavor to their nitrous containers. Specifically, they specialize in the containers that produce Whipped Cream, and by adding flavor to their nitrous canisters, you can now easily make different flavored Whipped Creams.

Now, of course, the gas inside the container isn't JUST Nitrogen, it's actually Nitrous-Oxide, which is also used as a propellant for aerosol products, rocket fuel, and in medicine to relax patients.

Why is Galaxy Gas Dangerous?

For the same reason Medical doctors use NItrous-Oxide to calm their patients, people are using it to make themselves high. Using Nitrous as a drug is called a whippet, and it became popularized in the 2000s when the canisters became easily accessible.

However, Whippets have been around for MUCH longer. In fact, upper-class citizens in the late 18th century would host "laughing gas parties" at their homes. Modern whippets were mostly seen in the medical student field for decades, but when laws limiting access were loosened to supply dentists with the gas, it grew in popularity again.

So not only are Whippets becoming easier to find, and gaining in popularity again, here comes Galaxy Gas with FLAVORED Whippets, though that CLEARLY wasn't their intent.

Nonetheless, people are ordering the product and using the canisters as whippet containers, and it's becoming a growing concern among Michiganders.

Now recently, Galaxy Gas has halted selling their chargers, at least for the time being, but now other brands easily purchased through Amazon and WalMart have begun adding flavor to their products as well, and you can get those for less than $40 in some cases.

So be sure, if you hear someone talking about Galaxy Gas, know that they're probably up to no good... or they're making a delicious Whipped Cream for a delightful dessert.
