It’s common knowledge that not all root beer is created equal, and there are some root beers out there that are just worlds ahead of the rest. On a personal level, my all-time favorite root beer was Barq's, followed by A&W and then Faygo. But all of that changed when I tasted a root beer that was made right here in Michigan, over in Holland.

This root beer absolutely changed the game and has now set the bar for all other root beers to try to achieve this unique flavor. The root beer came from a non-alcoholic vendor that was set up in Grand Rapids, at the Tots and Taps Festival over the weekend, and they had a variety of pops, including a delicious cream soda.

But it was the root beer, made by Kittywampus Soda in Holland that won me. I was in the middle of sampling around 28 different beers when I needed a pallet cleanser. They offered me a sample of the root beer. The root beer that they concocted contained seven different spices and herbs and legitimately tasted like a liquid root beer barrel. You know those candies that you bring with you on road trips that are barrel-shaped?

Yes, the root beer actually tasted like a root beer barrel which as you know, has always been a unique flavor of its own, apart from the root beer drink itself. Somehow, these people were able to harness the power of a root beer barrel and put it into a liquid form. I highly suggest the next time you’re in Holland or see this pop in the store you pick some up.

Kalamazoo Woman's Maternity Shoot At The Root Beer Stand

The shoot started out as a joke kinda like "wouldn't it be funny if we did a maternity session here at The Root Beer Stand?" Then the more I thought about it I was like okay we are going to make this happen.
