Here is When Michigan’s Minimum Wage Will Reach $15
It has been a long and tedious process, but Michigan's minimum wage has been inching upward, and the magic number of $15 dollars per hour is finally coming.
WHEN is the question. We're waiting!
It was back in February that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the two new bills that would help pave the way for minimum wage hourly workers to reach the much anticipated level of $15 dollars an hour.
There has been so much contention and arguing over the proposed wage increases from business interests and the legislature that there was a time where it looked as if this would never happen.
There was all the infighting and disagreement regarding the tip/credit proposed increase. The Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association got into a lobbying effort with the legislature and it was a mess. The earned sick time law became a problem as well, and they are still arguing about that one.
