This is So Dangerous! Watch Your Kids All The Time!
Have you seen the latest TikTok trend? It's dangerous and injuring kids!
This new trend is about putting squishy toys in a microwave to make them more pliable. Seems logical, right? Not a chance!
STOP IT AND DON'T DO IT!
Why, you ask? Because children have been injured and rushed to hospital burn units.
WHAT’S UP?
The seemingly safe and fun toys are exploding after coming out of a microwave. They are filled with soft, gel and after heating, when squeezed, they can rupture and spray scalding, molten like gel all over the skin. That is not exactly a good thing.

USA Today reported there have been many cases close to home and around the world of children being rushed to hospitals after thinking that putting their squishy toy in a microwave was cool and a safe thing to do. NOT!
Steven Valassis, a board‑certified emergency medicine physician, told Parents.com.
"The hot, thick substance adheres tightly to the skin causing second-degree burns that can be deeper and more damaging than injuries caused by a hot liquid because the gel remains in contact with the skin longer."
WHAT HAPPENED TO CHILDREN?
A little girl in Great Britain may have permanent scarring to her face because her squishy toy exploded after she microwaved her squishy toy and gave it a quick squeeze. BOOM!
There was a Chicago boy, Caleb Chabolla, 9-years of age, was rushed to the hospital because his toy explode in his face after microwaving. HIs mother said, "the scalding material stuck to his skin. The right side of his face was kind of melting off, basically."
And that's only two of many, many cases if severe burns because of this silly challenge.
Of course, these cases aren't the first of injuries caused by some stupid challenges that we see on TikTok and other social media. The sad thing here is that these kids didn't know better.
The adults we see in videos trying stupid things should know better. Where is their brain?
