Love Food? Top Hole-In-The-Wall Restaurants in Grand Rapids
I think we are blessed with some great restaurants in Grand Rapids and West Michigan. We do have it all from fast food, sit down restaurants, just breakfast spots, fine dining, it's all covered, even great simple hole-in-the wall spots.
We all have our favorites. We like spots that we feel welcome, the ambiance fits us, it's comfortable and of course, the food is good and delicious.
So, what about those hole-in-the-wall spots? They're where the true foodies go, so I started looking around and found, a bunch, all subject to personal taste, of course.
Subjective only, but these are a few of the top hole-in-the-wall restaurants according to Yelp reviews.
1. Big Foot Burger
Big Foot is at 5344 Plainfield Ave NE Ste 1, and a must stop for a fantastic Olive Burger, according to reviews.
2. The Silver Derby
The Derby is at 816 Burton St SE Grand Rapids, MI 49507, near the Alger Heights neighborhood. Folks say it's one of the best home town bars with good food and people.
3. Two Beards
Two Beards is in downtown Grand Rapids, 38 Commerce Ave SW. They're open 7-days a week and fans say you have to try the Fred Sanford, blackened chicken with avocado and bacon and all kinds of other goodness, and many more of their fabulous sandwiches.
4. Bosna Express
The Bosna Express is located on 128 28th St SW Grand Rapids, MI 49548. Fans say order the Great Cevapi. Bread is crazy good. Bosnian food is a hidden gem that should be explored more.
5. Butcher's Union
Butcher's Union, at 438 Bridge St Grand Rapids, MI 49504, has become a real hot spot in Grand Rapids and the equally hot Bridge Street area, so I'm not sure how it falls into the "hole-in-the-wall" category. If you don't know of Butcher's, it is a true hidden gem.
