Awesome Strange Bizarre Food for Thanksgiving? Not My Family!
Thanksgiving is next week and Susie and I are planning our big family dinner. When I say big, I mean BIG since we will host about 22 from our family. There will be a few "littles" but the rest will be full-size folks, and they will be hungry.

So, it looks as if I'll be cooking two turkeys, one smoked and the other roasted on a special grill. That way the kitchen oven is free for whatever needs to be done.
We do the main course, and the rest of the family provides the sides. And there lies the dilemma of what they will be.
Of course there are the traditional favorites -- mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, some sort of stuffing maybe, candied sweet potatoes, some sort of green salad, mac and cheese, and the famed strawberry pretzel salad. Okay stop, I'm stuffed already because I have to make room for pie!
Yes, as you can see, we are very traditional and all of this sounds pretty normal, right?
However, as Susie and I were gathering ideas and recipes, we found some other rather bizarre sides that other families may be serving. Not to say I think you're weird. It's just that these probably won't find a slot on our table.
How about these head scratchers:
Sliced cucumbers mixed in sour cream
Ambrosia salad
Fried Squash
Bean Casserole
Ham and Banana Casserole
and finally.....Mincemeat Pie
Need I say more!
Happy Thanksgiving dinner!
