Scrolling on social media these days just feels like a bunch of politics, memes and doom and gloom. That's why I've spent a lot of time trying to curate my feed to find some of the best accounts that West Michigan has to offer

Some of the best ones? Local businesses and restaurants that have a great sense of humor when it comes to advertising themselves. So if you're looking for a laugh (and your new favorite spot), these are a few accounts you should follow and visit soon.

One Stop Coney

Hands down the first account I tell people to follow when it comes to hilarious Grand Rapids businesses. Not only do they have incredible food they're showing off in each shot. They also have endearingly hilarious captions and a love for their customers.

Van Andel Arena

Not only a great place to see a concert, they also have a great way of letting you know who is coming to town and what is going on in Grand Rapid's biggest venue. Don't miss their ticket giveaways, either!

Black Napkin

Not only do they make a burger that will keep you talking about it, they also post photos that will have you dreaming about them until you CAN get one. Oh, and the memes are pretty solid too.

Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation

While generally a great place to find information about classes and information about our parks, in the summer things got a little goofy and there was a "how many days since someone pooped in the pool" countdown that honestly kept a lot of us going. So, make sure you're tuned in so you don't miss it if it happens again this year.

The Lantern Coffee Shop

Not only do they make a great cup of coffee, they also make some great content that will help wake up your feed. I especially love their "favorite drink" series, that gives you a peek at the creative and wonderful people who are making your drink.

Hopefully, these accounts brighten your feed like they have mine, because let's be honest- there's so much noise and negativity on the internet. It's nice to see some of our neighbors having fun and promoting what they do best offline.

Intersection photographer Benjamin Howell has been sharing his photos of artists who play the intersection for almost a decade. These are some of the biggest acts who hit the stage in Grand Rapids on their way to the top.
