Santa Claus Girls Gets A Location Upgrade in Grand Rapids

They are back and better!

The Santa Claus Girls are taking over a space inside the former DeltaPlex building for the next five years.

With this announcement, the Santa Claus Girls can reach out and impact more children aged 12 or under and their families' lives.

President of Santa Claus Girls, Tine Hudson, told WoodTV, how much this new lease will help their organization.

"Last year we didn't have a permanent spot, so we had to work just four days on a drive-thru and we could maybe do about 25% of our usual amount of kids."

For more than 100 years, this volunteer-based non-profit organization has helped out thousands of families throughout the Grand Rapids area during the Christmas holiday.

When a gift is given to a child in Kent County, Santa Claus Girls gives them a toy, a book, cozy hats, pajamas, and mittens for the winter time.

With the costly lease of the building and buying the presents for Kent County children, they are looking for donations from people and businesses to meet their goal.

Hudson says that Santa Claus Girls,

"are taking a gamble and hoping the community can come through and help us out with donations so we can meet our obligations to pay the lease."

As of now, according to their website, they have raised $12,975 out of their $200,000 goal.
