Sure, there is an official start date for spring. However, if you've lived in West Michigan for any amount of time, you know that our spring season doesn't start when the calendar says it will.

Instead, there are a few key events that happen yearly that remind you warmer weather is finally on the way. Some may argue that ice cream places like Frosty Boy and Heights Cream opening are the sign, while other's may say that Oberon Day from Bell's Brewing is the start to spring. But, I'd argue there is one other seasonal opening that really says spring is on the way... and that's Pronto Pups.

This morning on social media, Pronto Pups announced their opening date for their 77th season on facebook. In their post, they bragged that they're so excited to see all of their staff returning (including one who just got married) and that their prices are staying the same as we come to expect every year on the lake.

Pronto Pups will be opening for their spring/summer season on Friday April 5th at 11am. In their post, they said they plan to be open 11am - 9pm every day until Memorial Day Weekend, after that they plan to stay open until 10pm each night.

And yes, for the 19th year in a row you can expect the same prices as always (just make sure you bring cash- they still aren't accepting cards), and you can get a pup for $1.75, with a drink for either .50 or $1 depending.
