We're not even a full month into 2026 and It's looking like winter will never end.

Grand Rapids has already seen between 30-34 inches of snow and now we're about to get hit hard with bitterly cold temperatures.

While you don't want to be caught in that cold of weather for a long time, a few minutes outside if you're properly bundled could give you the opportunity to do some fun science experiments.
I found a great YouTube channel called Minnesota Cold where this guy shows you how to do different science experiments when the temperatures plunge below freezing.
These are five of the coolest looking experiments I was able to find that you might want to try out yourself.
FROZEN HAIR
I'm a bald guy but this looks so easy and fun I might have to try it with my long beard.
FROZEN TOILET PAPER
My wife would not approve of me doing this because she says I already waste enough T.P. as it is, but this is a fun and easy experiment that I'm sure kids of all ages would enjoy doing.
FROZEN SPAGHETTI
I feel bad wasting food but this is another fun experiment that is fairly simple to do.
FREEZING EGGS
I've seen some videos during the summer when the sun is practically melting everything it touches and people will fry and egg on a sidewalk, this is a different approach that looks really cool.
SUPER SOAKER MIST
I don't have a super soaker, but if you have kids in the house or nearby odds are you'll be all set to give this one a go.
