It pays off mortgages for families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who die while working, especially those who leave behind young children.

This isn't the first time Tunnel to Towers has helped families of fallen heroes.

Earlier this year, they paid off mortgages for families of officers in North Carolina and Mississippi who died in the line of duty.
