Labubus are the hottest thing this fall. From PopMart to knockoffs in the gas station, they're nearly impossible to avoid. And the Detroit Lions are hoping to bring that same energy to the field this season.

Recently on social media, the Detroit Lions posted a picture of a Labubu wearing a lion outfit, standing somewhere on Ford Field.

Meet Honolulu Labubu, a little blue-and-silver monster dressed in Lions gear, grinning like it knows we all want to spend money we don’t have to have one. The menacingly adorably plush is a one of one, and not available on their merch site (yet) but it left fans with mixed reactions.

Scrolling through the comments was half the fun. Some fans were practically begging the lions to create one so they could hand over their wallets:

Other fans rolled their eyes and rattled off something about how 'this isn’t what sports are about' (or something like that.)

In spite of the haters, the overall vibe is that Detroit Lions fans are very into the idea.

The Lions have really stepped up their social media game just like their game on field, and they’re winning over fans with little touches like this. A collectible plush might not change the standings, but it does make being part of this fanbase feel fun. And after decades of “same old Lions” jokes, that’s a vibe we should absolutely cling to.

So yeah, Detroit, keep the wins coming, but also keep the weird merch drops. Or fake outs that leave us wishing they were reald. Because if there’s one thing fans agree on, it’s this: Honolulu Labubu forever.
