Four Michigan Horses Saved After Dramatic Ice Pond Rescue
I don't have the exact number, but it sure feels like a lot of people and animals have fallen through the ice this winter in Michigan.

In January, a dog that walked onto thin ice fell through, and it took rescue teams four hours to safely get him back to shore.
And back in December, two snowmobilers in Grand Haven fell through the ice and drowned in Round Lake in Sheridan Twp.
Over the weekend another ice incident required rescue crews to jump into action.

On Sunday morning, the Calhoun County Area Law Enforcement Underwater Rescue Team (ALURT) responded to assist multiple fire departments with a water rescue involving four horses.
The horses got out from their enclosure and wandered onto an icy pond at Turtle Creek Golf Course.
ALURT team members entered the cold, shallow water and worked alongside the other fire departments to remove each horse from the pond.
Thankfully all four horses made it out safely and no rescuers were injured either.
The horses warmed up, were able to walk on their own, and received medical care to make sure they were okay.
